Pasadena City College LVN to RN

Published

Hello everyone! Wanted to start a thread on the Summer 2019 PCC LVN to RN admission that just closed on February 28th. I also applied! Anyone else?

Maybe they’re busy. Hopefully they email us on Monday, I wanna get started asap. Are you guys gonna be working during the program? I’m thinking of working minimum 2 8 hour shifts and volunteering 4 hours minimum at this hospital I want to work at.

@azngirllh I am actually from SD, so im most likely going to look for a part time or per diem job up there after the transition program. Most likely 2 shifts per week.

Oh wow that’s far, hopefully you are not commuting to up here and renting close by instead? I live 15-20 mins away from campus so it’s not bad for me.

I will be moving up and renting a room since it’ll only be a year of the program. So it isn’t too long ? lmk if you know places hiring!

My current work is hiring LVNs, part time and per diem available, and it’s way less stressful than working at a SNF, I’ll private message you.

EDIT: I’m not allowed to send private messages on here for some reason, I’m not sure how to contact you ?

I’m working full-time (8-5, M-F) and plan to continue with that at least through the end of August. After that, I’m not sure what I’m going to do as I doubt my work will keep me part-time. I’m thinking about home health or hospice maybe.

Duong.Karen1: out of curiosity, do you know what the going rate for a room is? I’ve been out of the market for awhile now ...

I’ve been looking through craigslist to rent a room and they range from $500-$900 depending on if you’d like your own bathroom or not. And yeah it’s going to be a hard year money crunching but it’ll be worth it in the end

From someone who’s lived in LA for a long time, trust me on this, make sure it has AC.

Over the past 3 years, I’ve used my AC more than I did the past 15 years combined so don’t believe anyone that tells you A/C not needed.

Rents haven’t really changed so that’s good ?

Pasadena is so hot ? and I still have t received anything through email yet ?

I got the information packet on 4/2. How about you guys? This is a lot of stuff we have to pay for, my wallet is not looking looking forward to this ?

Hey guys! Has anyone started on the Castle Branch Uploading tool for the program yet? I've started but my dates on my uploader are all wrong. It says everything's overdue (2018) so I'm guessing its the same requirements but its just the wrong dates?
