Pasadena City College Fall 2014 Application

Hello,

I applied at PCC for their fall 2014 generic application and is just curious if anyone who has applied received any acceptance emails yet? Also I was told that if I have not taken the TEAS yet and if accepted to the program I have two weeks to take it. Is it best to take it before knowing if you're in the program or wait until the acceptance email?

I just received an email today at noon saying I am chosen as an alternate. Does PCC send out rejection emails too?

For those who have not taken the TEAS V yet: The TEAS V study guide from the PCC Bookstore was very helpful for me when studying for the Math section. It is very similar to the one in the actual test. The Science and English portions in the test were way more difficult than in the study guide.

Hello, I called the office to find out when alternates will begin to hear back and the gentlemen over the phone said alternates won't be hearing back until late June or even till late July. I think it sucks having to wait to late July to find out if you got the spot or not. My other concern was I am leaving for vacation next month for a week and he advised me that I take the ATI before I take off. I went online to register but there were not that many test appointments the next one is in two months. Do any of you guys know if they add more test dates? This is for Cal State LA location. If not I'm going to have no choice but pick a further location. :/ Also for those who did get accepted have you guys received an orientation date???

I was offered admission and was given until yesterday (may 19th)'s deadline to accept or decline.

I declined as I had already chosen another program prior to their offer and decided to stick with my original choice.

In the acceptance email they only gave directions for what to turn in by the deadline date for acceptance/decline of admission (which was their "statement of intent" form and your teas v transcript (or if you hadn't yet taken the teas you would have to take it and turn in your results by the deadline as well)

The only mention of any orientation was that once you sent your "statement of intent" and teas scores that they would THEN send out further instructions. (So, no date was initially given for an orientation) only those that officially accepted their spot might know...(although they may be still waiting on an email for further instructions as well)

That's good to know. I haven't taken the TEAS, yet, but I'm going to register for sometime in July. I really wish we knew something more, like what number we are on the alternate list. And what are the chances of us getting in. I got accepted for the Radiologic technologist program(this was my back up plan), so I'm going to start that in the mean time, while I wait to see if i get accept. Well, thanks for the update, it's very helpful.

Seems odd that alternates wouldn't be notified til late June/early July considering that those accepted had to give their notice by Monday.

That's probably because PCC is not offering the TEAS on campus, we all have to schedule it and take it on our own. So the accepted students have to still take the test and report back their scores, thus, leaving the alternates waiting longer.

Maybe? I took mine back in early May though and it seems like quite a few people are not accepting their spot at PCC. The waiting is getting old :/
