Did anyone attend the meeting for the PCC-APU Integrative program? I wasn't able to attend. Was wondering what your thoughts are on it vs the other bridge programs they gave info out on.

Hi! I haven't attended other presentations with bridge programs but this is the information I gathered while in the meeting:

* Students starting Spring 2022 will finish with PCC and APU at the same time

* Start taking APU classes the first semester you start with PCC and take Summer courses as well. Classes are 8 weeks long and you will take only 1 APU course per semester. APU classes are all online.

* APU Community Health course is a course taken during the BSN program with a 90-hour practicum. This is taken over the Summer after your 3rd semester

* Graduate with ADN from PCC and then take final APU course in 4th semester (during the 2nd 8 weeks). Transcripts must be sent to APU when ADN is completed.

* After completing ADN and APU courses, you take the NCLEX-RN exam. APU also required 120 units for the BSN award (70 from CC, 40 units from RN-BSN, and 10 units once you pass NCLEX).

* Students can participate in pinning ceremony for APU in the Winter

* Financial aid is awarded through APU (covers PCC and APU) and a counselor is assigned to the student once they are admitted. You will need to apply for financial aid via APU. You are classified as a full-time student at APU for the financial aid award. Additionally, 10% discount from APU's RN-BSN tuition for those partnered with PCC

* Cost estimate around 24k (around $6000 per year)

* If you are in the APU cohort, you must take all the courses when they are required (you cannot delay or take the courses at another time)

* After submitting your application you will hear back after 2 weeks (approximately.

- All information was gathered from the PCC-APU information session held on 10/18. If anything is incorrect, please let me know to edit or reply/quote -

Nope, haven’t heard anything here.

Hi guys did anyone who got accepted withdrawal for another offer? I believe CSU and UCs have already released their decision. Curious to know if there is any hope for the alternates out here ?

Thank you for this information!

One question though, does this mean we'd earn our BSN around the same time we earn our ADN?

That's awesome!

Hi,

I was an alternate who recently was accepted, so I don't have much information regarding orientation/APU.

During the orientation did they mention when we would be able to submit our applications for the PCC-APU integrative program?

December 1st is the preferred deadline. You should also contact the director of the nursing program and let her know you are interested in the PCC-APU program so she can place you in clinical sites with students who are also interested/applying. Congrats on getting admitted!
