Fair vs unfair really isn't applicable in business negotiations, imo. What are you willing to do? What does your team require? That is what will determine the outcome.
At this time my average hourly rate for overnight call without having to go in to the facility is about $27 an hour. The thing about call is there are times when I'm not contacted and other times when the phone is ringing off the hook. One of the benefits is that I know what is going on rather than coming in the next day and trying to sort through the crisis' over night.

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone can answer this for me, if you work part-time as an NP, what is a reasonable amount of time to be on-call? I.e. if there are 2 other providers, is it correct to think it is unfair for the on-call days to be split equally? Should the part-time NP not have less days on call?
Also, does anyone have any info on compensation for being on-call, as in any rule of thumb for addition to salary etc?
Thanks!
