Anyone apply to Parkland for their Feb 2014 residencies/internships? Thought we could use this threat to keep in touch with one another/support one another through the process of hopefully receiving a job through them :)

I applied to SICU and ortho/med-surg. Received an email today for an interview for SICU. Super excited and nervous!

Anyone else out there?

I just became certified on January 3 of this year. I was searching open positions online and found the application for Parkland's February 2014 Med Surg Trauma residency today (01/18/2014). I applied, but after reading this thread I'm concerned I was too late. Would it still be open for application if the position has been closed? I am really interested in Parkland, so I hope I still have a shot!

Parkland tends to leave positions posted on the HR website loooooong after they have been filled. From what I've heard, they've already hired for the med surg residency. :(

Sorry RNbeccafaith, I know offer letters have went out and start dates have been assigned so I would assume all positions have been filled for the February residency. You can contact them directly and ask though. Hopefully they'll have another residency soon.

Do any of you know how/when we're paid? Weekly? Bi-Weekly? Monthly? I'm trying to plan my budget and am mostly interested in how long it will be before we receive our first check after starting.

Just stumbled across this thread. I may be moving to Dallas in the near future and was starting to look at what the market is like for new-ish nurses. I graduated with my BSN this past August and am currently in an OR Residency program in San Antonio. Does anyone know the requirements for the Parkland OR residency? What is the maximum experience one can have and still apply for residency? Also when could I expect them to post job opening for the next OR residency program/ when does it begin? Sorry lots of questions. Been having trouble finding decent information on their website.

TIA!

Does anyone have any tips for resumes and cover letters for these residency programs? I also have a thread about Texas Residencies here: https://allnurses.com/texas-nursing/versant-programs-2014-a-911300.html

I also may be relocating to the Dallas area this summer. Any tips on health systems that are great to work for? I'm a BSN RN with 10 years experience. I currently work for a HCA facility in the Denver area. I believe HCA has some outpatient surgical centers in the Dallas area - so I have the option of applying for a transfer to one of those. Here in the Denver are HCA/HealthOne systems are at the bottom of the pay scale - do they have the same reputation in Dallas?

Could u tell me what kind of questions to expect in the interview? And is it a Panel?

Hi everyone,

I was offered an interview today! When I applied, the position was listed as "medicine specialty 4th FL & AC", then on the email confirming the interview it says "medicine specialty clinic". I am not very familiar with Parkland, can anyone give me any additional information about what type of floor this is? Is it an outpatient clinic?

Did you end up getting this job? If so, do you like it? I am thinking of applying for a residency
