Parkland Fall 2013 Residency

Has anyone applied to the fall residency? I applied but haven't heard anything either way, however I noticed some new listings within the past few days that say they start October 2013 (I was under the impression it started in September.)

I called and left a message with one of the recruiters, but now i'm wondering if they pushed the start date back because of the government survey. If they didn't pass they probably wouldn't have hired a bunch of new nurses.

Anyone that's applied heard anything yet?

They passed. They knew the fall residency would need to start in October, I forget why now but the spring group started a little later than normal. Interviews will be in the first couple weeks of September for the most part.

I also applied to their RN residencies but I haven't heard anything back either. I'm not quite sure if they all begin at the same time or are completely separate depending on each unit. I'll update if anything occurs.

Last week they gave me a first interview, I talked to the recruiter and she said the second interviews will happen about two weeks from now.

I don't even remember seeing the listings for those, but I was/am pretty focused on only applying for SICU.

Ahhh ok, Park Plaza is in Houston and Parkland is Dallas' county hospital :) that's why I hadn't seen it!

Rainchacha so you interviewed for Park Plaza hospital?

I was debating about applying but the 3year commitment after training throws me off... that's the longest I've seen. How did the interview go?

Has anyone heard back from Parkland (Dallas) on any of the fall residencies?

Not yet... which is a little frustrating. But I think in July the scheduled interviews the week before so it might be next week before anyone hears from them.
