Just starting a thread for Parkland Dallas! Has anyone heard back about anything?
I got an interview for the emergency department to take place this weekend. I took the 40 question dosage exam and had read that they asked pretty basic questions. Some formula's that helped me: Ordered/have x volume , volume(mLs)/time (mins) x gtt factor , volume/hours. And make sure you know your basic conversions. Mcg to mg, mcg to grams, mls to tablespoons, mls to oz's. They asked a couple questions over pharmacology which threw me for a loop. Like "what should the nurse be aware of when giving tetracycline?" "Avoid taking with milk/dairy products". There werent too many of these though so try to remember what you can about the drug and narrow it down. With 40 questions, if you do well on the math you'll make at least an 85%. Im trying to prepare for my interview with as many practice questions as I can. I have no ER experience other than clinicals (which confirmed my choice for ER nursing), but I am a patient care technician and have volunteered at MCP. Glassdoor also has forums that have past interviewee's questions and descriptions of their interview. Also graduating with my ADN in April 2018.
I also applied to insulin Acute care and have not gotten any calls or emails so far. I graduated in December with my BSN and received my license on 02/13/2018 after passing NCLEX my first try.
I applied to Grad Nurse positions end of last year. The waiting game to hear back is crazy ☹ï¸
I applied to L&D. I went to nursing school with a couple of girls who now work on the floor and they love it. Med questions were only asked on the dosage exam but it was mostly conversion questions. My NICU interview was 4 (I think?) behavioral questions and some chit chat. Pretty run of the mill. There were 3 people in the interview, not nearly as scary/intimidating as it could have been. Veronica Benton is the recruiter that scheduled my NICU interview.

For those of you who have interviewed, were they behavior questions? As in "tell me a time when..."
