Parker Adventist ICU training program

Published

Hi!

I am very interested in applying to Parker Adventist for their ICU training program. I was wondering if someone could give me feedback about Parker, their ICU, or if you have done their training program. Also, any notes on benefits or pay would be great!

Thank you so much for your help! Have a wonderful holiday season!

I don't know if you're still looking into this program, I can give you lots of info if you're still interested!

Hi there Notnicetofib! I would like more info on this program. Specifically, what "type" of cases does the ICU care for, at what level of acuity? Do the more acute patients transfer to St. Anthony's? What drips are most often used? What is the culture like? Is the training program well established? Do you take call? These are the immediate questions that come to mind. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated!

I am a BSN RN, ACLS, PALS, from an large academic hospital looking to up my skill level closer to home.

Parker gets a wide variety of acuity. We rarely transfer patients out now that we are level 2. We do not do open hearts, and we don't have neuro rad, so those are the only things that will transfer on a regular basis. Anything else is fair game - we have a general unit so you could have a trauma pt in one room and a sepsis in the next. We definitely get sick patients, and have been insanely busy, running to full almost every day.

Our culture is awesome- we have a reputation amongst flex and agency as being the best place because of our people. The nurses on our unit are all really helpful and friendly.

The training program is always a work in progress, and it's for sure work- not everyone is cut out for it. But I would recommend it for sure, I really enjoy working there.
