Hi! I am thrilled (and very nervous), I just accepted a position in the ED at a level 1 trauma center!! I have been in the OR for 2 years and finally have the opportunity to pursue the ED; This has been my dream! I was wondering if anyone has any advice for a nurse transferring to the ED? Also, any books I could buy and read to help brush up my knowledge (to start off on the right foot and to continue learning)! TIA!! :)

Thanks for your response! I have offers from Castle Rock Adventist and Swedish. I didn't apply to DH as I heard they are pretty strict on the minimum experience, and I don't have my BSN yet, so Children's was out. I am living in the Littleton/Highlands Ranch area.

Hi everyone! I was hoping to get some insight from current or recent employees of Healthone (preferably Swedish) or Centura Health (possibly Castle Rock Adventist). @ Our.Inn- I applied to the residency program at Memorial. Sadly, i was rejected last week. You have to go into the career page to assess the status of your application. It was here that I found out. The recruiter told me back when I submitted references that we should hear by the end of last week (but will def know by the end of the month) if we would receive an invitation to the hiring fair. Thanks! I'm more than willing to do LTC or Home Health right now-- I am negotiable on just about anything/everything. I knew it would be hard but had no idea it would be this difficult. I was thinking about hiring a company to help reformat my resume. Maybe I'm missing something :-/. Thanks again!

Hi Everyone! I feel so completely and totally defeated. I recently graduated with my ADN in august 2013 and have a B.S. I worked as an LPN and as a CNA yet I cannot seem to find a job anywhere...hospital, home health, ltc, etc. I cannot even get an interview at all. Does anyone have any advice??? I'm from Colorado, but I am also looking in Iowa... and Central Washington. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm about to have a meltdown!

Hi NurseVoldemort! There is a possibility that I will be moving to Yakima at the beginning of the year, I was wondering if you had any advice on getting hired as a new grad in your area? Are there hospitals you prefer? I am not familiar with hiring in Yakima or anywhere in WA for that matter, so I appreciate any help you are able to give! Thanks so much in advance!
