Parent concerned

I had a parent come to my office today and mention an article she has seen on line about the rubber band bracelets making some kids sick. She couldn't remember where she found the article today. So of course, I go looking and the only thing I find is from the manufacturer of the name brand company warning about counterfeit products that may contain lead and/or latex and other chemicals that could be harmful. What I am wondering is has anyone else seen this or know about it?

No I haven't and since I've had no kids complaining or anyone with severe latex allergies I'm not worrying about it. I'm just glad that in my area those the interest in those things are dwindling!

I'm not going to stress on this, just wondered if anyone else had heard of any problems with them. Like everything else the craze on these shall pass and something else will take it's place.

It's like the snorting smarties thing. It's more of a rumor with no clear origin that spreads like wildfire among parents.
