Paper (Yes, I know I shouldn't sweat the small stuff...)

Published

I know, I know...my following gripe is probably going to come across as frivolous because I really do have more important things to fret about.

Anyhow, the increased price of lined filler paper is absolutely shocking to me. Although I theoretically could get my note-taking needs accomplished in a paperless manner with my laptop, I tend to retain five times as much material when I take notes by hand with my good old pen and paper.

In previous years I've stocked up on filler paper during the month of August due to the back-to-school sales at every other store. Places such as WalMart, Big Lots and other discount retailers have traditionally sold the 100-pack bundle for $0.50 to $0.75 each during this time of the year to draw in the back-to-school crowd. However, this year I've seen the same 100-packs sell for $1.99 and up.

Although it's no big deal, I felt like sounding off. If you've read this far, thanks for listening. By the way, have any of you been caught off guard by higher prices this year?

However, as the person who originally posted this thread, it puzzles me when people do not simply skip the threads that they claim to not enjoy reading. A wise person once said that if you have nothing nice to say, it's better to not say it.

I just can't imagine reading all the threads on here and suddenly finding THIS to be the objectionable one. ?

Sometimes when you try to joke in this type of media it doesn't come out well.... But, I was only kidding, hence the little smiley guy... I enjoy your threads commuter.

I noticed the price increase on paper as well! I remember it being like 4/$1 as a kid during August and folders being 10/$1. And notecards are super expensive as well. It's ridiculous!

Check your Target ad in the paper today. School supplies on clearance (filler paper was pictured in the ad), plus coupon for a $5 target card with any $25 school supply purchase. Haven't done the math, but it might be a good deal! Just FYI!
