Palomar/Mira Costa Fall 2021 ADN

Published

Hi everyone!

I am applying to the ADN programs at Palomar and Mira Costa for Fall 2021. I wanted to make this for other students who are also applying! Share any info you'd like.

Hi! If you don’t mind me asking, how many points are you going to apply with?

I have my CNA, I have 4.0 in all the prereqs, I speak another language, and I believe I also get a few points for low family income, difficulties, etc. I got an 82 on my TEAS. So I think I have about 83 points. I’m super nervous.

this is for palomar btw.

For mira costa I have 88. ?

Hey! I'm not sure what my points will be yet because I'm taking the TEAS next week. If I get the grade anticipated I should have between 82-90 points! I have my associates, CNA certification, 3.6 Science GPA, 4.0 all other GPA, and I should have a few points for low income, etc. I am nervous as well!! If you're applying with 83 points that's really good!! You should have a good chance of getting into the program or on the waitlist. Fingers crossed! For Mira Costa I should have about 86 points but they only accept 20 students ?  so I am not anticipating getting accepted into their program. Are you applying to any other programs?

I’m sure you will do great on the TEAS! I am also applying to grossmont, southwestern, and SDSU.

Although I really don’t think I’ll get into SDSU because my points are relatively low for their program since they won’t give you extra points if you have your CNA certificate without work experience..

I’m hoping everything will work out. If not, I’ll just have to finish a couple of classes to get the associates and start working as a CNA.

I’m especially nervous because there’s going to be double the amount of applicants due to covid delaying everyone.

Thanks, I hope so!! I am also applying to Southwestern and Grossmont ? I am skipping SDSU because of the same reason. I don't have documented work hours as a CNA, yet. I may also apply to National University. You may be right about double the amount of applicants...Palomar admitted people in the points range of 81-94 and accepted 15 people on their waitlist for Spring 2021, so I think we have a good chance!!

Hey! So apparently I finished all of the requirements for an associate’s degree at Cuyamaca.

Do you think if I send them the form that says I finished all my requirements for the degree they’ll count it?  Also, how was your TEAS?

I’m praying you got the score you wanted.??

Thats awesome! I would email the nursing departments and ask..I emailed Palomar and Grossmont and they responded quickly. It seems like every program is different with how lenient they are but Palomar seems the most flexible when it comes to points. I hope they accept it for you!

I moved my TEAS to February 1st so I can study more cuz I didn't feel prepared ? so we will see!

I’m applying to both too. I have AA, Medical assistant cert, work experience, 4.0 pre req GPA, 89% on TEAS, bilingual in Spanish, military spouse and a couple other things on the life experiences section so between 93-96 points. When does mira costa let applicants know If they were accepted or not ?

Not sure but I think you’ve got it in the bag haha

No idea but with your points you can probably get into any ADN program you want !

Hi! I am also applying to hopefully start this fall. I have my AA, 4.0, taking the TEAS in a week. I speak another language, CNA certification and work experience, first gen to attend college, and I also worked while taking my prerequs. I'm hoping for around 90 points or so. Not sure if that makes me a competitive applicant, but I sure hope so!
