PALOMAR/MIRA Costa ADN Programs 2022

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone I wanted to start a thread so we can support one another /ask questions for those of us who are applying to an ADN program 2022 Spring with Palomar, Mira Costa, Grossmont!

Does anyone know how many students they're accepting now after Covid? I heard its a little less competitive for Spring Vs fall!

@Goddess6 Thank you! congrats on nailing the TEAS!! I have zero chill so I've been annoying the ladies at palomar asking all about what would qualify for the extra points, etc. they probably hate me to be honest hahaha. Only point I don't know if theyll give me credit for is for the educational disadvantage, but I was thankful to know that palomar isn't like miracosta where you must be an EOPS student to qualify, so hopefully my statement was "good enough", if I don't get that point then I'm looking at 86. Which scares me because who knows how compacted this cohort will be after seeing last semesters numbers!

I agree though, this forum is definitely a blessing but is equally a curse for my own sanity. At least we can try to help ease eachothers doubts and suffer together this way haha!

Hi everyone,

I applied to palomar and miracosta for Spring 2022. I have 87 points for palomar and I'm not sure for miracosta.

Since mailing my applications, I had to email a counselor at palomar to confirm they received it and she could not find my envelope. This had me worrying and I emailed miracoata but she said she was too backed up to check for my application. Im going to try again this week to contact her.

Anyone else confirm acceptance of their application?

I didn’t ask if they received it. I tracked my envelope and it said it was delivered so I kinda just took that as they have it.

I used the certified shipping as well but the counselor said she couldn't find my application.

@Awzap3 ahhhh now you have me nervous LOL, who did you talk to? I emailed them asking for confirmation but no reply yet. Did your tracking number say delivered?

I don't mean to make anyone nervous at all, just wanted to share my experience because we all mailed our applications. (Why don't they do it electronically in the first place, IDK).

I emailed and talked with Amy.

I wondered the same thing, I thought last cohort they had electronic applications as an option. I really wished they allowed for in person drop off, or at least a confirmation of receiving the applications.
I’m sure they have your application, it may just be in a different pile or something! I’ll let you know if they get back to me about my application, but it doesn’t seem like they will.
I’m wondering how impacted this cohort will be, maybe they have a ton of applications so it makes finding one like a needle in a haystack.

I contacted miracosta yesterday and the nice lady Mallory confirmed they received my application there (slightly relieved) although that program is tough to get into.

I'm sure mine is at Palomar somewhere,  thats my best chance at a program! Mid-october can't come soon enough.

yes, palomar is pretty much my "sweet spot" as well, definitely where I feel I have the best chance of getting into. I also applied to grossmont but they arent as lenient with certain points so I'm applying there with less points than I am with palomar. I'm so anxious!! I just hope its not as competitive as it was last semester! the jump in the accepted point range compared to previous cohorts was really discouraging LOL.

Well according to the counselor that helped me, the Spring semester is a bit easier to get into rather than the fall cohort. I have a friend who got into Fall 2021 with 87 points so that was slightly reassuring but you just never know with how things have been applying into the programs.

@jaaadelz @Awzap3 Hey guys so I contacted Grossmont, MiraCosta and Palomar about receiving my application after I saw this. I sent all 3 applications by USPS. The status for Grossmont says  "Delivered, Individual Picked Up at Postal Facility" and after contacting Grossmont she said she can't check the status since it wasn't sent certified and thats how they're logged ? I don't even know what that means. For MiraCosta they confirmed they got it. and Palomar the status says "Delivered, Front Desk/Reception/Mail Room" and they haven't responded to my emails about confirmation yet so I'm a little worried about that : / . Has anyone heard back from Palomar?

Hi!

I heard back from Palomar and she actually couldn't find mine. I'm just hoping it'll show up before their decisions. It makes me kind of upset that I couldn't drop it off in a box and ensure that it was delivered to the campus. My certified mail said received but didn't say by who and I filled out the mail recipient correctly prior to mailing.
