Palmdale Regional Medical Center New Grad Program 2012

Published

Hello,

Wondering if anyone applied to this position or has any insight on how they choose their applicants?

thanks!

Hi, I also applied. I did hear that they prefer local applicants. I received an email yesterday to schedule for the nurse battery test. My appointment is this Thurs.

OooO congrats on getting the email!

Ok yea I live in the valley but am planning on moving to Palmdale or Lancaster in about 6 months. Was hoping on getting a job before moving. I got a rejection letter saying that I did not meet the academic and/or experience required...thought it was strange since I thought I was eligible so I contacted HR and she said she would forward my info to the nurse recruiter so we will see what happens.

Do you have an ADN or BSN? R u licensed yet? and do you have any work experience?

Thanks and good luck on the test!! Hope you get the job.

@Talie15...I live locally, licensed, no RN experience, have ADN, & currently attending MSN pathway program at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Honestly, I'm not holding my breath because the battery exam is hard & another way for them to eliminate applicants. Good thing you called them! I hope you move on wl the process. I'll keep you posted too.

hi you guys! I applied too! yesterday.. how long after you applied did you hear from them?

@eedo_rn: Good luck! I applied on Sat & got an email regarding the battery test on Mon.

wow! that was quick! Goodluck! you go get em! :)

dang that was quick!

@myitas more power to you for doing a masters program! how do you like it and what are you specializing in?

as for the battery test, just give your best so at least you know you tried and whatever happenes from there....happens. lol.

how do you like living in the palmdale area? any tips or advice? i want to move to west palmdale or lancaster.

hi @Tallie15! when did you apply? What number did you call for the HR? Im gonna cal them on Monday if i dont hear from them or got rejected too! lol. That was a good thing you did, now you're papers are forwarded to the nurse recruiter! you also did USC? ahhh me too! hoping for the best!

My friend took the battery test today and they told him right afterwards that that he would not continue on. So I'll find out tomorrow if it's a go or not :/@Talie15, my first class starts next week & I have 2 classes in the fall. They are online but its going to be tough. As for Palmdale, I like it...no smog, no traffic, open space, fresh air, affordable housing. At the same time you have to consider that since its a hour from LA, there's not much to do. Summer is very hot, dry, windy and winter is cold wl occasional snow & hail. Definitely visit the area you are interested and stay a weekend so you have a good idea of the city.

Specializes in Operating Room.

Good luck to you Myitas!!

Thanks myitas. I went to go see some houses up there and really liked the open space and fresh air! I like the quietness about it. I'm tired of the valley.....so congested. The only thing that would suck is the drive....I think my chances of getting a job are greater down here. only time will tell..let us know how it goes with Palmdale :)
