I told my hubby I want one for Christmas. LOL

The nurses that I know use them for drug reference, their schedules , address books, and don't forget games.

I have one and it's got epocrates, Merck manual, med calc's and some other odds and ends. It's very nice but I haven't quite figured out how to use it efficiently. I can still look up something quicker in a book. It's nice to have so much info at your fingertips though.

I really like mine. Right now I mainly using it as an address book. I would like to get more programs on it, so i can get more use out of it.

My hubby just bought me a Casiopeia (Casio version of Palm) and I love it!! I have been playing with it for a few days now and things are finally sinking in. I can't wait to add some new software to it for next clinical rotation.

What about writing notes?! Has anyone found a program that you can write your notes in class on the palm, and keep up? Imagine writing your notes in class, taking them home and printing them in type font!

Hello,

I use my PDA everyday. Usually epocrates gets used once day, I have an RSI calculator, references for labs, tracking of employee data, my schedule. I have the calculator silk button go to an RPN calculator.

For note taking, get a PPK (palm portable keyboard) it allows you to have a full size keyboard that folds up to the size of the palm. I have been able to avoid purchasing a laptop by using one. For your word processing, get blue nomads wordsmith, a program that interfaces with word. For databases, get handebase.

Of course, there are many games on my palm, but I never play them in meetings or classes.

When I start grad school next Fall, I plan to use my PDA to track my anesthesia cases.

I want a PDA, too. I asked for one for Christmas, and since my husband is such a gadget freak, it just might happen. I never thought about using it for note taking. Great idea!!!
