Mavrick, BSN, RN 1,578 Posts Specializes in 15 years in ICU, 22 years in PACU. Has 30 years experience. Jul 11, 2018 Family members are just too nosey. They stick their head out even if you've pulled the curtain. They start asking about stuff going on in the room that indicates they are hearing way too much about the other patients. When I have a second patient I can't pull the curtain and I don't like it when my first patient is so awake they are asking about the second one let alone a fully awake and alert family memberFamily are just as likely to cause more anxiety in the patient than relieve it. They start demanding stuff and are not able to comprehend that their loved one is not the center of my universe. The big room/curtain set up of most PACUs are just not family friendly.
