I suggest packing your vehicle 3-4 weeks prior with what you imagine you will need for your assignment/s and attempt to use what only you pack....This will either greatly reduce what you think you need or you might even add or swap items out.

For those concerned about size and weight there are options that are pricey but might be worth it to them. If you can afford it can be great item to have.

See link printer fits in hand. 2.6 lbs. Prints scans copies.

$326! It is also a feed through scanner which is much lower quality than a flatbed. All those vertical lines you see on copies? They come from a feed through scanner or fax. No way to scan book pages. It is true that I didn't know about this device, but similar portable scanners and printers have existed for a long time that even as two devices take up about the same space and are equally costly.

I value time and privacy. Printing at work privacy issue. Going to the library between certain hours is not ideal for me.

Oh good Lord. It's a far cry from saying that one has never regretted having a printer to saying that everyone needs to carry one. I enjoy having a printer with me because I walk everywhere and sometimes walking to the libra or a UPS office to print something is just too much work. If getting to a library to print something is no big deal, that's great. Find some other use for the money and the space.
