Pacific Union College LVN to RN

Updated:   Published

Hey team! I applied for the 2017 term for PUCs LVN to RN program.

The other threads on here are dead and a few years old.

Can anyone share their experiences in the program?

I applied with a 3.28 GPA TEAS 84% ACT 28. Any idea of my chances are of getting accepted?

I've never been to a college other than community so I've never been rejected heh. Mega nervous. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE:

I found out I got accepted into the program! I application deadline was April 15 and I got my acceptance letter June 10.

I'm hoping it wasn't a tough call from the admitting committee, especially because of my GPA. I guess I was just looking for reassurance with the admitting stats I had. So if anyone applies, I feel like this is one of the lower brackets you can be in with your GPA and get accepted! Haha Its crunch time now though, if I want to pursue to Masters.

I haven't gone through the program yet and I had no luck contacting others who have gone through the program to talk about their experiences, so here is my email: [email protected]. It would have been nice to talk to someone before hand, so if I disappear off the forums, you guys can contact me later as I progress through the program.

I would love to know your experience as I am also considering this school. What campus will you be based at and where do you live? I'd be coming from SF.

Welp, i'm currently in the wait period for orientation day in october. there are 2 days in november and december for the "bridge" into RN to test competencies in skills and stuff. Every even years they have the LVN-RN at the Napa Campus and odd years at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield. I currently live in fairfield so it's about a 40 minute commute. Im planning on staying with mt parents during school nights who live in vallejo to cut on travel time.

Can you tell me if you have to take ACT and TEAS before you apply? How are you liking it so far? I live in Vallejo and have been seeking out this program since I lived back in NC. It seems like the perfect program for working adults. I did not do well on the originally TEAS so I need to ramp up for the ATI TEAS. Any information you can provide would be most appreciated!

Best program ever. The professors for the most part are really supportive. Classes are only 4 days a month, but it's mega intense with A LOT of information to go through. You really have to study in between classes to really understand.

I had to take the TEAS and the ACTs in order for them to accept my application. I barely made the cut off.

I would work on ramping up your test scores. A couple of my class mates say that their friends with higher GPAs than me didn't get accepted. I'm guessing test scores play a big hand in acceptance.

I have a great GPA but not a great tester. I appreciate your response. I better study up if I want to get accepted, huh?

It'll only help :)

Good luck. You deserve the future you're striving for :)

Thank you for the comment. I sent my application out last week. I may ask you more questions in the future if you don't mind...

Can you tell me how difficult the ACT is? And is it just English portion? Hope all is well with the program. Guess you are attending Travis AFB location?

Hi! Is it true that they give priority to the students that are already attending PUC for prerequisites? Many of my coworkers are saying that, and I hope it isn't true! I just barely met the minimum requirement and the coordinators are saying that they wont know if my gpa is good enough until they see the types of applicants that apply. It isn't giving me much hope!
