Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) ELMSN 2023

Published

Hi all,

I noticed there wasn't a thread yet for the PLU ELMSN 2023 Cohort so I wanted to get one started.  Has anyone else already been admitted into the program and accepted?  I received my admittance email on Jan 27th and accepted yesterday!  Excited to meet/chat with others who have applied and best of luck to everyone!

Best,

Ryan

I'm in! So excited! Wasn't sure it was going to happen since I'm still finishing pre-reqs. But I'm jazzed and a little ready to barf ?

Congratulations!! Can't wait to meet everyone. I'm excited! ☺️

Hi Everyone!

Just got off the waitlist and would be a California transplant. If anyone wants to look for housing together, that would be amazing! Going into all of this a little lost.

Hi,

To anyone who accepted the offer for PLU, do you have any recommendations as to where to live out there?

Is there a specific area that is considered safe, inexpensive, and close to the school?

I am from California and would have to move out there!

I'm also from California and looking for housing! Would love to know how you are finding places.

Congrats @Paige Heid. I already live here but can definitely help answer questions about the area.

I'm from CA too. Planning on moving to Tacoma

So got an email that the official start date is 5/30. I had originally thought it was the beginning of June. But I guess not ??

The website had originally said around the beginning of June, but they announced the May 30 start a few weeks ago. There is a Virtual meeting next week and the in person orientation is 25-26 of May, that is mandatory.

Ahhhh. LOL. Good thing I'm trying to move up the 22/23. Gives me a few days. Sure moving FAST!

If you need to find a place, I would love to stay with another person in the program!! What would be a good way to reach you??

Definitely is!
If you have a chance, I would recommend checking out the places before committing to a lease. There are some very nice areas, but also some areas I'd avoid! You can look at areas close by the school. Check out crime rates in the area as well as the rates in the area you are looking to rent. There are so many options for students, especially rooms for rent. Traffic on the 5 can be difficult sometimes, so mind the commute! Hopefully that helps a little.

I went up last month and drove alllllll around Tacoma and made notes on a bunch of apartments. Scouted out good places. And read reviews. Found 2 I really like. So we will see what they have available
