Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) BSN 2019-2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I haven't seen any threads about the 2019-2020 applicants, so I figured I'd start one! Has anyone been contacted by the SoN about their possible acceptance?

I’m a transfer with a 3.7 GPA. I applied to the LPN to BSN. I’ve worked for a CNA for a year before becoming an LPN. I personally think it depends on the cycle for the criteria of a strong candidate. One of my friends had a 3.7 and the other a 3.9. Both got in their second time around. With that being said, good luck everyone!

Oh dang, well fingers crossed we'll all be the lucky ones who get accepted soon and don't have to wait months to hear back! ❤️

Nurseuhlisuh, if you are bridging from LPN to RN does that mean you’d be in entire different classes? Where did you obtain your LPN. I was considering to do the same but I ended up going for the DTA. Unfortunately there are only really 2 universities close by that I can personally apply as I am tied to this region..

Meuschki, no it doesn’t. All that entails is that I wouldn’t have to do the first semester. I would join a traditional cohort in their second semester and take the same classes as they do. I have a DTA as well. I went through Clover Park Technical College for my LPN. I would like to get into PLU but I’m also applying to other bridge programs in the area.

Starting an LPN program and then reapplying for next year if I do not make it this time, is something I am considering right now. You definitely seem to be a strong applicant and I am crossing my fingers for you. I really like PLU and it's campus so I am hoping to receive good news soon.

Hi n.leap and welcome to the thread. Are you waiting on status update for admissions as well?

Yes I am. I submitted my application in early January. Haven’t heard anything back yet. My prereqs are a little older but I hope that doesn’t mean I don’t have a chance

So you are also a transfer? I wish I would know what does make a strong applicant (maybe I'd worry a lot less then ? ) but as far as I know they take an holistic approach in their decision who is a good candidate. I'm a nontraditional student and I really hope that they have a good mixture of students from all background they accept.

If there is something beyond a “non traditional” student that would be me =]. But yes, I would be a transfer student.

Now i am curious. Enlighten me:) But before that,i may tell you about myslef, haha. I have 2 children already, one is a junior in college, the other in 3rd grade. I have never worked in the medical field in the US, but I am originally from Germany and was a Lab tech and a midwifery student before my husband received orders to move back over seas. I think I failed to mention this in my application packet though. lol
