Greetings,
I was just wondering if there are any PLU BSN 2013 applicants. I put name if a few hats (UW, SU + ADN/CC programs) and I am sure there are multiple applicants to the PLU programs. Just trying to get a feel from applicants. Also, if there are any current PLU BSN students or Alumni, feel free to chime in on the PLU BSN program. Thanks & all the best to everyone!
Food for thought: The road of least resistance is the road of least progress.
I was looking for information on the PLU BSN program as I just received notification yesterday that I have been accepted to the Spring 2014 program. I am so excited! I am just curious what the schedule is like, the information on the web site is very vague. Has anyone else been accepted for Spring? Oh, and I was told the religion course will be taken care of by the program classes so you don't have to take one on your own.
Yes, I signed up for a religion class in the fall.
Hmmm . . . when I registered for my classes I was told one religion course was needed, so I am signed up for American Church History. However, I was told that the diversity requirement is taken care of by one of the nursing classes so that doesn't have to be taken on its own.
@Mc0306 ~ I got a letter of acceptance for spring 2014 last week. I was elated, to say the least! I marked the same on my acceptance letter as you did. I actually just dropped it off today. I spoke at length with my advisor earlier this week. He said that they fill for both fall and spring based on how the dean wants to group us together; grades, life experience; cohorts, etc. Declination letters went out for the "absolutely nots" per my advisor. Some of those still in prerequisite courses that are still good candidates, may receive notice mid to late June. Again, per my advisor. My dear friend hasn't heard yet, but she hasn't been declined either. They are definitely not sending them out all at the same time, since some received notice in April. Feeling so blessed to have been chosen! Excited to meet everyone in my group.
Also, my advisor said that because I have myDTA, I can start in spring by taking the religion class, nursing 220, and a psych 300 class (so I can minor in psych).
@JenEvans
So excited to get started in the Spring! Unfortunately, I do not have my AA degree and I will be starting university requirements in the Fall at PLU. I imagine that those that only have to take one Religion class is because they have finished the AA or are entering with more credits. But oh well, at least I know my spot is saved for Spring
Do you have your AA already? And have you already had your advising appointment?
Sarah.b---- any news?

I got the letter on Monday. It had a letter of confirmation to sign and send back, as well as a "Release and Hold Harmless Agreement" (promising you won't sue if you get sick or injured during the course of study) to sign and return. There is a page about what pre-requisite or co-requisite courses are still needed (if any) and a page detailing the physical and psychological expectations of nursing students.
Welcome to the cohort nudgereality! It's so exciting!
