Has anyone here attended Pacific College in Costa Mesa, CA for LVN?
If so, would you recommend it?
And for nurses living in OC, would recommend any other colleges for LVN/LPN training that you've taken or heard is good?
Thanks in advance :)

I am currently attending the school and I feel as if I am a victim of false advertisement. They do not have many decent teachers and getting your payment or loan seems to be the only concern. Too many teachers that are burnt out, inexperienced but highly educated and power trippers. The D.O.N. is a major power tripper. The D.O.E. what a joke, she is too busy to see anyone. And to think they are trying to get the bridge program for RN's if Karma works they will be denied.Every time I have had a concern regarding my education I am passed on to one person to the next in the administration until I get frustrated and stop inquiring. The way I look at it if they can't keep TP and hand towels in the restrooms they certainly don't care about other issues. I personally know of instructors who date students, much favoritisim is practiced there too. I have been favorites with some instructors so this isn't envy speaking it is the truth. It does make it easier on you but not helpful with your classmates. If I had a rather I wish I would have gone to Golden West and not a vocational. I truely feel that I got a raw deal. The tutor program is probably the best thing they have going for them. Think real hard and if you are desperate go there but if you have choices really listen to the students in the break room during break. You will not hear happy students.

:angryfireI was reading this post as well as another.....have a little cheese with your whine. When was the last time you read your White book, or joined a study group. I was valedictorian, worked part time and have six kids from two to twentythree. I was frequently exhausted, but I worked hard, asked questions, showed up for class, and began becoming a NURSE. It was hard work.
P.S. I did not cheat-I did the real way. Stop wasting time on this and read a book.
This is a good school. Make the most of your opportunity. Some people don't get the chance to take advantage of the opportunity some of you are wasting.

My coworker went here to Pacific. She said it was intense and a lot harder than she thought it would be but HELLO!!!! We are talking VN training in a short time period and the key word is intense. No matter where you go, always check the pass rate on the exam and ask how many students took it. You see if only one student took the test and passed, they can boast that they have 100% pass rate. Some of you are truly just whining about crap that has nothing to do with education. The other thing I would be concerned about is not who is dating whom but getting a job when you are done. I hired my coworker that went to Pacific because she has a wonderful attitude and passionate about what and how she does her job. She had that before going to any school. I am going to ask her to write on this forum what her experiences were. I think this is a wonderful site where we can all exchange information not ***** about ridiculous things. We can all join together and make our professional even better.
I think you make several good points, and my tone was pretty harsh. My apologies to any readers. My point should have been made more respectfully-It's a very good school with some dedicated and hard working instructors, most of them work more than one job and have a genuine desire to mentor and teach. I was behaving like a grouchy pit bull.

hi,
as i have indicated on this site previously, i have had only great experiences with pacific college. fortunately, i was referred to pacific college by some friends that had graduated in 2006. i feel that the teachers, the curriculum and the clinical instruction is the best.
i would refer this college to anyone.

Fortunately, I had both great teachers and great training at Pacific College. I studied hard and didn't expect everything to be easy. They prepared me really well for the State Board Exam. I felt confident and I passed. I am now an RN student and wouldn't change anything about my training at Pacific College.:twocents:
