Pace University ABSN Spring 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hiyaaa! I wanted to start a thread for all the students applying for the spring 2020 ABSN program at pace. Feel free to ask and answer questions regarding the program, good luck to everyone!!

Hi everyone! Thank you for your comments; I just got accepted yesterday and I'm really nervous about the workload and how impossible they made it seem on the interview. What did your weekly schedule look like in terms of class, clinicals, studying, exams, etc. and what were some strategies you used to stay on top of your work?

I'm a current student right now and just like everyone else, I was freaking out at the beginning of each semester honestly. It really wasn't as bad as it seems, it's completely doable and what you're learning is interesting so that helps with studying. A lot of people in different nursing programs complain about them so I think you will hear negative comments from every school. I love that this program is short especially for us students stopping our lives to go back and get a second degree. I was able to work about twice a week throughout the program, but you do need family support - working full time is just not feasible with this program. The exams are pretty much every week, every other week, sometimes in the Summer we had 2 exams a week, one time 3 exams in a week, but you can do it. There is a lot of group projects and busy work like little assignments you have to stay on top of. I got lucky and met great people while we were in person so the group studies we carried on via zoom, but now the school library is open so you can probably group study in person. Having a good group of friends in this program is really helpful! Overall, I would recommend if you want your nursing degree in 11 months. I've heard worse things about longer programs and honestly all nursing programs must have negative things being said, so just pick what's convenient for you!

Hi everyone,

On September 15th, I submitted my application (last day LOL) for the Spring 2021 cohort. I have one outstanding prerequisite left and will be completing it this weekend. I am aware they do not review my app until everything is completed on my end. Is anyone else in the same boat? Also, for people already accepted.. How soon did you hear back about the interview? I was unaware an interview was part of the process so this was news to me. I'm assuming it is conducted via zoom/webex/etc? Any help, I would so appreciate it. Congrats to those accepted already!

Hey have an interview tomorrow. Are the questions the same from the previous year? If not what did they ask? Also is there a math portion?

Hi everyone! I was accepted off the waitlist for Spring 2021, I was wondering when did you guys have to take your clinical computation exam? And If you could drop some help/tips on what and how to study. The exam is math, but what type of math? Please let me know!! Thanks

Hey, when is graduation for the 2020 grads? Is there like a ceremony ?

Hey everyone !

I m so nervous, I applied on the 14th of September but I don’t have a 3.0 GPA. I did horrible my first semester undergrad and it have been haunting me ever since. I did however retook all my prerequisites where I had an C and got A’s And B’s. I got for a job working I direct patient care , so I could familiarize my self with the field . In addition, I enrolled and completed an LPN program passing HESI exit exam with a 95.55 percentile (1092/1400). As an lpn student I got over 300 clinical experience, which includes. Trach care, stage 4 pressure wound care, NG tube feeding, med administration etc.... I really hope I can still be consider be judge fairly and not base on one mistake, which I ve learned and improved from. Finger crossed.

Sorry I am in the same boat, how did this wish out for u? I am too a lpn graduate with a degree I'm biology
