Pace ABSN program starting 2013

U.S.A. New York

I know it's early, but is anyone else looking at Pace's ABSN program to start in 2013? I'm 90% finished with my prerequisites and just getting the pieces together to start the application process!

boy am i glad im not going there!

RDR I am so sorry for what you went through. You obviously have a great academic record, so it's disturbing that you were dismissed. I read from another Pace student on this site that if you get

Are you applying to other schools, and if so, which ones?

I am really scared now... I mean, how hard can the courses be? I know it is a pretty intense program and that two of the hardest courses are Pathophysiology and Pharmacology but even if you dedicate your entire life to study you could be kicked out. That sucks! Can anyone advice what is the best way to cover for tuition and related expenses? I only got $12,000 for federal loans (sub + unsub), no Pace scholarships, no Tap or any kind of grant  Are you guys going through the same thing or is your financial aid package more generous than mine? :nailbiting: I guess I am going to go to my bank and start a student loan for the rest of the money left. Please share...

I am nervous now too, all we can do is study hard and hope it pays off!! I am covering the part of my tuition that the federal loans did not cover with a discover student loan.

Wow I been fallowing this site but never posted and I am still awaiting decisions from Nyu and pace but after reading this no way will I even allow them to take advantage like this when I was interviewed the lady came in the room and kept telling us how lucky we were to be there in my mind all I was thinking screw her she is lucky we applied and because of us she has a job from there I felt that even ppl that work in the office were so cold towards u and I purposely left my math questions unanswered to see what will be the outcome I really hope I get in to Nyu this is my choice if not I also got acceptance from Adelphi screw pace this is y they have100 per ENT rate because only couple of students graduate and I can't afford to just throw money in the air thanks for posting the truth and good luck to all who got accepted to pace hope u all succeed

I completely completely agree with this quote and the one before. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. Once they get you in, they could are less if you pass or fail. The teachers do not teach and they only care to weed out the ones that can take and pass the NCLEX and damn the others who work so hard and try so hard to make it, those who genuinely want to become a nurse. I wish I had listened to all the negative comments about this school and ran the opposite direction. The teachers do not care. Most of hem read from them slides and NEVER think they are wrong and the staff is worst. They are rude and think that you beg to come to this school. If I know about this structure of organization I would never have come even for the passing rate. It's not worth it.

Very discouraged :( about going to Pace. How much is the tuition for the 1-year program anyway? It says in the Grad tuition Page $16,850 per semester so I believe since there are 3 semesters in the 1-year program the total tuition cost would be around $48,000 or so. How come do I have in my financial aid site "estimate cost of attendance" the cost of tuition is only: $33,700 for the year? is anyone in the same situation?

The cost is about 54,000 according to what I saw for me a few weeks ago. They hit you with so many unnecessary fees, especially the graduate class thy they make you take in hopes of you continuing in their NP program (which from a student stated it was horrible also).

Hi all,

For those who were accepted into the program (CONGRATS AGAIN!), besides your GPA, did you guys have good working/ volunteer experiences ? For those who are currently in the program or was in the program, do you feel they value GPA more than your essay and experience or vice versa?

Please share your thoughts and experiences!!

Ok, I see you've asked this a few times, so I'll contribute.

I have no real healthcare experience, my undergrad GPA meets their minimum (i.e. not great), but my pre-reqs were all As. My personal statement was probably different from others -- maybe that helped me stand out. I don't know what goes on admissions committee meetings, but I think Pace looks for those who are done with all pre-reqs, can handle the rigor of the program, and will pass the NCLEX on the first try.

Best of luck to you in your pre-reqs and applications!

Hi pregunta,

Thank you so much for your insight! Yeah I have been following this thread very carefully. Because I come from a law background with minimal (compared to everyone else) health experience I worry a bit.. I'm doing great so far in my remaining courses and I'll be applying for spring 2014 entry

Thanks again!

i have a question for everyone who applied/got accepted to pace or just anyone who may know the answer to this question.

I am planning on applying for the Spring 2014 entry but do any of you know if you get accepted to the program if you could defer your acceptance until the following semester (fall 2014) even though it's at a different campus? I am just wondering because i may need to continue working for a few months longer to pay off some loans before I start nursing school and if i get in, I wouldn't want to give up my spot. If anyone knows the answer to this, please let me know.. Thanks!
