overwhelmed

Just need to vent. I work long term care and have lost 6 residents in the last week and a half...of course we must fill the beds before they are even cold...yesterday I walked in on 3-11 and had 2 full admissions waiting, a doctor with 20 residents came in to do rounds and the state inspectors walked in right after I did...WHEEEE!!! Of course all this still means you have all your regular stuff to do also, pass pills, pass trays, help feed ,do treatments ,answer phone ,do doctors orders,call pharmacy (who I ended up having words with...who do these people think they are???) to top it all off the administration was freaked because state was in and kept calling on the phone to check on psychotropic drugs, incident reports, ect....state being there doesn't bother me, we've all been throught it, but damn....give me a break!!!!!:( Thanks for letting me blow off some steam.....

Yuck...sounds like a really crappy day.

I don't know how LTC staff do it all...I don't think I could!

Hang in there, hopefully it will get better!

Sorry you are having such a hard time. I hope things get better for you and the residents soon. Hats off to you for doing what you do!!!!!!

I am sorry, it sounds like your day really sucked. I offer my support. I could never do long term care....well not unless I was given no choice. My hat is off to those of you that do; thank Goodness for you all.
