sup all, i started working in NH 2 months ago (first LVN job ) my first two paychecks were fine, but when i got my 3rd paycheck, i thought to myself theres something wrong with this !
cuz i put in 104 hours that pay period, and it says on my paycheck :
Regular Hours 95
Overtime 9
in my understanding it is considered overtime if u work more than 80 hours.
so i shouldve got like 24 hours overtime pay?
so i talked to our payroll and she said that she only handles the regular time, that if its overtime its ADP who handles it, and our DSD cant explain the matter to me.
does this happened to anyone yet ?
or theres a good explanation for this ?

As far as any job I have every worked, anything over 80 hours is overtime. That is unless you are contracted to work a certain amount of hours or you are salary.

well im not contracted to do certain hours, or on a salary, i talked to one of my co-workers, she said that i have to work 6 CONSECUTIVE days for them to consider the 6th to be overtime.
i dont know, im confused =(

in my understanding it is considered overtime if u work more than 80 hours. so i shouldve got like 24 hours overtime pay?i think it's if you work more than 40 hours a week.sometimes you get 2 1/2 weeks in a pay period (if you're bimonthly) and you could work 40 hours in 1 week, 40 hours in another week, and maybe 8-16 hours in the half week, and doesn't mean you get that extra week on OT.

I would call my local wage and hour department. I'm sure they can give you accurate information. Good luck.

call and ask the payroll people directly, not the human resources people.
OT is usually more than 40hrs in a week.
But, sometimes they don't count 'training' hours as being towards OT. That's been my experience.
In the US, Federal Law requires that OT is paid to 'non-management' and other types of employees - but this is key, the gov't determined a long time ago that RNs are considered 'management' and are exempt from Federal OT laws (employers are not required by law to pay RNs overtime wages).
That being said, almost every employer DOES pays time and a half for 'on-the-clock' RN employees, and, if that IS their policy (and it IS), they need to explain your check to you, and/or fix it.
