Hi, all.

Just curious. I've been hearing about how unemployment in the US is down and some employers are starting to have issues filling jobs.

Has anyone noticed job opportunities improving for nurses in your area?

For nurses? It has definitely improved, starting about two years ago, but still harder for brand new grads to find acute care jobs than it was before the 2008 recession.

I notice the majority of places having trouble finding enough people are retail and restaurants.

I get recruitment flyers in the mail on a regular basis, but they want only experienced nurses. I've also been hired on the spot for the last two positions I applied for and have been given good increases at both jobs. New graduates in this area still have a very tough time finding work, though.
