Besides going to the city that you're going to move to for an extended amount of time, what's the best way to jump start an out of town job search and get interviews set up before you arrive?

Could you call the recruiters at the hospitals in the area you're moving to? I'm sure you could get initial telephone interviews done before you move.

What I did was go online to the hospital websites and you will be able to find a lot of information. I also did a geographical search on this website to find people that lived in the same place and talked to them.
