Out-of-the box nursing jobs

I know they exist, and have even heard of some people having them (for example, a family friend was a nurse at a manufacturing plant). What out-of-the box nursing positions have you held or heard of?

Knew a nurse PhD who worked with NASA. Her primary area of research was figuring out how 'lady business' would work in zero gravity & how to best accommodate lady plumbing in the toilets. Srsly. I assume that it worked out well because they did have female astronauts. She was a real character. Very politically active also.
