Our Lady of the Lake Accelerated BSN Program?

Published

I know this program is still pretty new, but does anyone have any experiences or stories to share about it? I have a previously earned BS under my belt and have about one semester of prereqs to complete before applying for the Spring 2014 Program. I'm extremely anxious. So, some questions are:

Was the application process a nightmare?

If you got in what was your experience?

Does anyone else have plans to apply?

Any personal (or second-hand) horror stories or accolades?

Yes I am in the BR area and switched to the traditional program and have been accepted for the Spring 2014.

Hi, I am applying for the traditional program for the Spring 2014 & the deadline is July 15th. I have not been accepted yet. So, when did you find out that you were accepted? Congrat.

Thank you, I found out that I was accepted about a week and a half ago.

[COLOR=#003366]larutan, That is awesome! Did you apply to the Baton Rouge campus right? Will they still accept someone if that person needs the 9 hours at OLOL?

Yes I applied to the Baton Rouge Campus and yes you can be accepted needing 9 hours as long as those hours are completed prior to starting the clinical component.

congratulations. If you don't mind me asking, why did you switch to the traditional program?

Is there anyone applying to the program(s) who are not from the area?

I switched to the traditional program because looked back on my academic career and times when I excelled in school and those times were when I was able to take my time and throughly study the material and apply it in life. The Accelerated BSN is too fast paced for me to make A's, I wouldn't do well in a program like that. It's only 1.5 year longer than the accelerated program.

Oh, I understand. Well good luck.

Does anyone know where the classes for the Accelerated BSN are held? Is there a New Orleans option?

@Fumanchuesday
