I am from New Orleans. What bad things have you heard about LSU?

I switched to the traditional program because looked back on my academic career and times when I excelled in school and those times were when I was able to take my time and throughly study the material and apply it in life. The accelerated BSN is too fast paced for me to make A's, I wouldn't do well in a program like that. It's only 1.5 year longer than the accelerated program.

Yes I applied to the Baton Rouge Campus and yes you can be accepted needing 9 hours as long as those hours are completed prior to starting the clinical component.

I have applied and they have received all of my transcripts thus far. I am anxiously waiting on my acceptance :)

I applied to the accelerated BSN program. Since I have a prior bachelor's degree it is not required for me to take the TEAS exam.

@Ljohn97@dai12 @Nelle0802 @butterfly nurse Hey ya'll!! How is school coming along? I plan to apply for the spring 2014 ABSN program and would like some insight on what to expect. How many classes do you have per day, what are the frequency of test, how many students are accepted into the ABSN program, how is the retention, what are your grades like, how is the campus and how much time do you spend studying. I know I have lots of questions, but the thread just stopped, lol. Your responses are greatly appreciated :)

I live in louisiana, I'm from New Orleans but I currently live about 2 hours west of New Orleans. My experience with racism varies New Orleans is a racist place, but it's not overt racism usually, just whites giving good paying jobs and advancements to other whites in general. Where I live now I notice that there are successfull people of color with new homes and nice cars and children doing well in school. However an hour away in Walker, LA it is very racist with very few people of color and a KKK presence; they have no problem using racial slurs. As long as you are aware of you not being white, you should be fine.

I spoke with someone in admissions a couple days ago and was informed that the religion course is going to be waived for ABSN program.

@Fumanchuesday Thanks for your response. How many test on average did you all have per class and how many chapers were covered on each test. And how frequent were test and quizzes? Thanks

I am planning to apply for the Spring 2014 semester. How is the program and how are you all coming along?

I will be applying to the accelerated bsn program for spring 2014. I do not have much information beyond that, but I will keep you posted on the application process.
