ou and sharp second bachelors

Published

Does anyone know if the second bachelors program offered through sharp and the university of oklahoma is hard to get into? I have all the pre req's from being on waitlists for so long! I will finish a Bachelors in Psychology soon and this seems like it would be a quick way to becoming an RN. The waitlists everywhere are so daunting. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the odds of being accepted to this program are. Ultimately, Im trying to decide if it's better to do this, or start my lvn now and do a step up. Any info would be much appreciated. Ive posted a few times now and I always really value the feedback. Thanks!!!

So.. I had my phone appointment with OU yesterday and got some good news and some bad news. Good news first.. you can have prereq's in progress when you apply so I can apply now for Fall Entry! Bad news though.. my Chem Class (Chem for the Allied Health Sciences) doesnt count for their Chem prereq since my class was part general/bio/organic chem and they said they want an all General Chem class. So I have to take a general chem course this summer (which SUCKS) but I can still apply for fall term and may be able to start nursing school this august!! All other schools I have been looking at would make we wait until at least August 2009 to begin, and if I get into the Fall 2008 program and OU I will graduate with a BSN in Fall 2009, how awesome is that?? I'm excited about this program and am very hopeful about getting in, but bummed about having to retake chem! BTW, the counselors are very helpful and easy to talk to, definitely give them a call if you are interested

Does the staff point you in the direction of how to get financial help? Such as student loans? I know 2nd degree programs you can't get a grant but a student loan to help pay for school would be better than using your credit card. :)
