Does anyone know if the second bachelors program offered through sharp and the university of oklahoma is hard to get into? I have all the pre req's from being on waitlists for so long! I will finish a Bachelors in Psychology soon and this seems like it would be a quick way to becoming an RN. The waitlists everywhere are so daunting. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the odds of being accepted to this program are. Ultimately, Im trying to decide if it's better to do this, or start my lvn now and do a step up. Any info would be much appreciated. Ive posted a few times now and I always really value the feedback. Thanks!!!

they start 3 times a year 72 students each time. the due date of application is due about 2m before the start date and they inform you 1m before start date. they start in jan/jun/aug this year at least!

they do not have waiting lists. Your chances of getting in are pretty good as long as u have all your prereqs completed and have your bachelors. www.ounursing.com for more info.

Have you already applied to their program? I applied for June. I'm getting a little nervous! My GPA is above about a 3.3 and I graduated with a degree in Health Sciences at SDSU.... Do you know when we should hear from them? Do you know how competitive it is? Do you know how many applications they received for the summer?
Sorry for the gazillion questions!!!!

I'm planning on applying to this school as well, its my first choice! My boyfriend and I want to end up in San Diego (we're in nor cal now) and this seems like the only school where I could start asap and finish the soonest. I tried to ask about my chances of getting in and they told me since the program was so new it just depended on who else applied and on my GPA and if I was done with the prereqs. They set up a phone appointment for me next week to look over my transcripts and will give me a better idea of my chances of getting in. I can't wait to talk to them, I have tons of questions. I really want to do this program! I feel like since I've done all the prerequisites and have a good GPA I have a really good chance of getting in (I'm applying for Jan 09)
I am going to apply to this program too and if you call them they are very easy to get ahold of and will gladly answer all your questions! I got an appointment to talk to a counselor over the phone next week and they're going to look over my transcripts and let me know my chances of getting in, etc! Just call the number on their website
if you applied for summer admission, they told me they will be sending out admission letters 1st week of april. check your email and mailbox.

I also applied for June. The admissions office told me today that they will send an email, followed by an official letter, by the end of next week. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding student loans and/or scholarships? I have no idea how I am going to pay for this if I get in!! Thanks!

you can do the fafsa and apply online. www.fafsa.ed.gov
because this is a 2nd bachelors, we are not eligible for grants. we can only get loans. :uhoh21:
i hope we all get in.
Thanks for your quick reply! I did apply for fasfa, but have not heard back yet. I am just nervous that what they offer will not be sufficient to cover the costs....

How much does the program cost?
For tutition and fees, the cost is about $32K for the 14 month program, not including books and other expenses, which they estimate at another ~$4K.
