OU Fall 2022 Traditional BSN

Published

hello! I was just wondering who else was applying to the traditional program for Fall 2022 at The University of Oklahoma and if anyone has heard anything. hopefully we hear back soon! I applied back in September so it has been a long waiting game. I haven’t seen another thread abt this so I thought I’d start one.

Hi! I was admitted to the OU BSN program this fall at the Tulsa Campus. I was wondering if anyone would like to help each other through the enrollment process and all of the requirements we need to complete?

And Congrats to everyone who was admitted as well!

How is everyone doing with the process, anyone having any issues so far?

Hello,

I figured I would get on here to see if anybody had any questions. I am currently a senior at The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing. I would be happy to help with any questions you may have this far. ?

Hey! Congratulations!!

I am wanting to know if you know the minimum requirements to get into the nursing program? Like GPA (I know they list a specific 2.5 GPA on the OU requirement website) I’m wondering if you know the actual cut off GPA to be accepted officially? Are they still excepting pretty much everyone who meets the minimum requirements? Are there any other requirements besides that that we should know about? Also do you have any tips for making it into the program? Thank you so much!

I believe that 2.5 is still the minimum but there’s different factors that go into it. Like the Science GPA. Of course, the higher the better the odds of getting accepted. If I remember correctly my stats were:

GPA: 3.6-3.7

Science GPA: 4.0

I know that this year they have expanded tremendously. They are making a new campus in Norman. They accepted 450ish students total (dispersed throughout each campus: OKC, Lawton, Tulsa, etc.)

have you applied yet? Or are you looking to apply this coming application period?

The only tip I have that will do the trick is: this program is solely based upon your GPA. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a competitive GPA but also to have all your requirements done by the Summer prior to getting in. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions I would be happy to help!

If I have all the requirements do you think I'll have any issues getting in for the TBSN route I just submitted my application today, I am worried for some reason I may not get in, I applied to OCU and am going to be applying to the UCO one but the UCO one I have to take about 4 or 5 classes extra and I just need some input on if you think I have a good chance of getting into the OU nursing school because I don't want to overload myself since I am taking 17 credits this fall at OU to start with.

If you meet all requirements you will be accepted.

2.5 GPA cumulative

2.5 GPA science

(Chem, anatomy , physiology,  micro)

All pre-requisite courses completed or will be completed by the Summer of 2023.

Let me know know if you have any further questions.
