OU ABSN 2022 Program

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to make a post for everyone applying to OU's ABSN program starting June 2022. I submitted my application the other day and have a few questions/wanted to meet people who are applying as well! I was told we wouldn't hear back until middle of February.

I've applied for the program at the Tulsa campus, but haven't finished all my pre-reqs yet. I'll be finishing them in the Spring semester...so hopefully they still consider me since they'll be done by the time the program starts. Wow, February?? I thought they got back to people in December. Maybe that's just been in past years...

Oh, congratulations! And yeah I was surprised too! I emailed to verify they have everything and was told decisions would be released 4-6 weeks after the deadline of January 15th.

Hi! I’m applying for the Tulsa program too and will be finished with my last prereq in the Spring so I’m in the same boat. So fingers crossed! I have a friend who’s in the program now and he was told he was on a waitlist at the beginning of December and then told he got in two months later just last year so I’m not sure why so late this year! Good luck to everyone ?

It's good to know that I'm not the only one finishing up prereqs. That's great that he was able to get in after being on the waitlist at first! Maybe they changed their deadline from previous years? It definitely said that decisions at OU Tulsa are given in the middle of December on the website, so I'm guessing that must be out of date.

Yeah maybe they changed it! If you look under application deadlines it says January 15th for both - https://nursing.ouhsc.edu/Academics/Bachelors-Programs/BSN/Application-Process

Do you mind me asking what your GPAs are?! I've been reading boards from the previous years and psyching myself out!

I have a cumulative of 3.91 for my undergrad, and 4.0 for sciences. How about you? Can't wait until Jan. 15th! Hopefully they get the decisions out soon after the deadline!

Wow. It sounds like I'm in the same boat as a lot of you. Applied to OU-Tulsa and still need A&P 2 and Developmental Psych, which will be completed in the coming semester.

My cumulative GPA is 3.94 (4.0 in last 60 hrs) with a Science GPA of 4.0.

Specializes in New BSN Grad.

Hi everyone! I also applied to OU ABSN Summer 2022 program for OKC and Tulsa!

I also am taking pre-reqs this semester that will be finished before the program starts. Hopefully that doesn't impact us getting in! If you all don't mind me asking, what was your undergrad degree in? I am wondering if they care/take into consideration how difficult undergraduate classes were in regards to GPA. Also psyching myself out haha! Wishing you all the best and hope you all get in! :)

Hey! I got a bachelors in Public Health! When I did speak to an advisor, she said their average science GPA for past applicants was a 3.2!

I have a BA in Criminology from OU and an AA from my time in the army in MS Arabic.

I'm in the same boat about psyching myself out. It is just such a long time from when the application window opens to when people are expected to find out.

Best of luck!
