Otterbein CRNA application for 2020

Published

Hello, did anyone apply for crna school at otterbein this year to start in 2020? Have you heard anything about interviews? Also, for the current students of the program, how was the interview process and what did you use to study for it?

They told me I'm 5th on the wait list, so I won't get to interview unless 5 people decline the offer to interview.

I see. Thanks for explaining it to me.

I contacted one of the students in the school and he said I’d be wise not to buy the textbooks since it’s probably too late to digest all the info. I’m sticking with the hospital’s critical care courses which helped me prepare for my CCRN exam. Here are my stats: I have 3yrs total experience. 1.3yrs in a SICU at a level 1 trauma center. 3.64 GPA, ACLS, BLS, CCRN. In a practice committee on our unit.

You are right, there is not enough time to prepare. I am using Pass CCRN questions, and khan academy to review Chemistry and physics like the website suggested

Did he say anything about a written test or the format of the interview?

Yes, he said there’s a 25 question exam.

I had my interview already. Everyone is very very nice.

Everyone was nice, they weren't intimidating. I was so nervous, I dont think I did great.

What were your thoughts on those pre-interview questions? I was told that last year they were used to be clinical questions but changed to something else this year. They asked me two clinical questions and others were mostly personal questions. I really liked how they have someone guided all the interviewers throughout the entire process, that was very thoughtful and helpful.

The test was not what I expected, I know I got some wrong. I feel like I got more clinical questions. I got about 2 scenario questions and a lot of follow up questions on the scenario questions.

I see, don't worry, I got some wrong also. They don't expect you to know everything, now that you are done, just relax and wait.

The wait is no fun. I wish we will get to know sooner. At least the stress of interview is over, if I don't get in this year I will apply again next year.

What would you guys recommend that really helped with the interview?
