OSU-OKC's AAS Degree

Published

Has anyone or is anyone in OSU-OKC's nursing program?

I'm at UCO now, but it doesn't feel right for me.

OSU-OKC is a two year program, but it gives you RN if you pass the NCLEX, correct?

My mom is worried that it is just to get a CNA or LPN.

Any help or insight would be great.

Thank you so much

I've never attended but it looks like it leads to an associates of applied sciece degree and allows you to sit for the Nclex. If you pass you would be an official RN.

Have your mom read this:

Specializes in Emergency/Trauma/Education.

I am attending OSU/OKC now and am in the nursing program. You will be able to sit for the NCLEX and be an RN if you pass the program. They go by a point system for entry into the program. I have my clinicals at Baptist hospital here in the city. It is a good program with a really good reputation. Feel free to ask any questions if you need to:D

Hi there! Sorry I'm new to this site and may have asked you this question before on another thread - I'm still learning how this all works. How is the nursing program going for you? I'd really like details on the schedule and how clinicals work. I have a son so I need to think about childcare too. Just wanted to know everything..Thanks!

Hi I graduated in May from OSU OKC and passed the NClex the first time on August 19th. The course is very hard at OSU OKC but I learned a lot. They have class Mon and Thurs from 11:30 to 2 pm and then they have clinicals which are either Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. 7 to 3 pm. You only have 1 clinical a week. Then there are 2 days where you come in for labs for about 1 to 2 hours. If you go there I suggest you get a study group as it is very hard without others input. I also suggest you get all of your prerequisites out of the way before you apply. Also if you can take the Trends and Issues during the summer instead of with 3rd or 4th semester. It is alot of reading and writing. Not hard just time consuming. Good luck where ever you go. Oh Get the book Kaplan review 2010. Read the 13 chapters on how to take a test and then there are tersts. This helped me more than anything.

Hi again. Another note since I reread your post. My daughter in law graduated from UCO in December and passed on her first try. She now works in the nburn center at Integris. She loves it. Good luck

I am in the nursing program at OSU-OKC and I will be able to take the NCLEX for my RN after I graduate. It is definitely not a CNA or LPN degree.
