Welcome to Oklahoma!
From what I understand, Direct Articulation is for LPN's who have graduated from certain schools within the last 3 years. Advanced standing is for LPN's who have been out of school for longer than that, but they can test and enter into the 3rd semester of the RN program. So they end up only having to do the last 2 semesters. This is what I am having to do since I have been out of school for 8 years now...
I wasnt an lpn but i just graduated from there and OSUOKC is a great school for traditional rn students and lpns. Most lpns directly articulate into the last two semesters of the program. The faculty know lpns often have difficulty adjusting so they hold special meetings for them to help them succeed in the program. I would go straight to the source and call Pat, the nursing dept secretary to get direct answers regarding the difference the two, its sounds like 1 would start in 2nd semester and the other in the 3rd semester but Im not sure. Anyways, good luck.
Are you an LPN? You still have to do your pre reqs but how many depends on which school you go to... If you are living in Norman, OU has a good LPN-RN program, once you get your pre reqs done its only 2 semesters... Also, Rose State (where I'm going) has LPN-RN with less required pre reqs. Those are the things that take so long... especially if you are like me and have been out of school for awhile!

Im from texas and will graduate from the LVN program august 5th and i just got accepted into OSU-OKC not the nursing program but just the college.... i was curious if OSU-OKC had a bridge over program? and what is the difference in LPN/LVN DIRECT ARTICULATION and LPN/LVN ADVANCED STANDING? A lot of these terms are so new and different to me.... If anyone has any advice or knows what those mean any help would be appreciated! All i know is that i want to bridge over from LPN to RN and i heard that osu was a pretty good school so...... let me know what youve got for me please?
