Howdy, was reading some older threads on the osu-okc application process and figured why not start one for fall 2019.
How many points did you apply with? I applied with 88 points hope it is enough this time around. The waiting game is brutal at best. I hope with the school closings recently it doesn’t push the notification letters back to much.
Good luck to everyone that applies

Anything we should try to learn to get ahead? I've worked in a hospital for five years so I've learned quite a bit, but I want to try to learn more before the craziness starts!
What I would do is get with someone who has the new edition and take a picture of their table of contents and compare it to yours ?
hmm. What I wish I would’ve studied before I started the program ks abbreviations (PRN, BID, QID, and so on). And taking a manual blood pressure. Also, terminology. For example: borborygmi = stomach sounds. Diaphoresis= sweating. Emesis= vomiting.
Other than that, they will teach you everything you need to know!! Make sure you buy the nursing diagnosis handbook because it helps tremendously with care plans!!

Thank you! This makes me grateful I started working in a hospital before starting the program. I know it won't make it much easier but it will definitely help with some basic terminology and clinicals since I don't have to fight through learning how to interact with patients along with everything else!!

Any info on what kind and when we will need a stethoscope? There’s sales online but I don’t want to get one I won’t be able to use.

I created a cohort page on FB. Search groups "OSU Fall 2019 cohort"
Can't wait to see everyone on the 14th!
Hey you may want to add "nursing" and "osu-okc" to the title for those who search for this group that's not on this website. Also thanks for creating it.
See you next week!
