OSU Grad Entry 2018

Hello all! I hope to start this thread as the official Q&A for the applicants of the Ohio State Graduate Entry Masters of Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Program Summer 2018 enrollment! I am in the works of applying, getting my last letter of rec together and studying for the GRE. I'm so excited!! How about you??

What are you getting your degree in? It's smart to go right back to school! I wish I would've done that, but I've only been out for a year and a half :)
I'm majoring in health Sciences! Yea, I saw this NP program as sort of just a grad program like med school or PA school and wanted to get right into it after I graduate!

That's awesome :) Yes, I will be quitting but if I can handle the schoolwork I may still sub in some offices on Saturdays! What about you?

Yep! I plan on quitting if I am accepted, which makes me nervous but I know it'll be worth it. I plan on staying PRN and just picking up on breaks and occasional weekends.

I plan on quitting my job as well but I currently work PRN doing counseling on the side that I plan on still doing. Gotta pay some bills and don't want to put to much stress on my partner.

I think this was asked before but not answered, does anyone know how many people apply each year? And how big the cohort is?

I feel like at one of the info sessions in June I wrote down that they had 234 apps last year and only accepted 104. It's like 45%.

Thanks! Do you happen to know how large the class usually is? I would've asked all these questions if the interview had been two ways!

Sorry I don't know the answer to that. But I'm sure if you called the College of Nursing they would have that info.

Hi everyone! I am an FNP applicant for this cycle!! So excited and nervous as I know that the FNP specialty is highly competitive. This thread is very encouraging however, especially after reading about interview experiences. I didn't enjoy the format at all!! Just hoping for the best and I wish everyone good luck!!!

Hi All! Thanks for creating this thread missminac :) I have applied for Summer 2018 as well, and yes, the waiting game is painful!! I completed my interview as well, and yes, it was slightly awkward, but not as difficult as I thought it would be. I've heard such an array of people that have gotten accepted; that makes me hopeful. We shall see! Anyone know of timeframes other than the ones posted on the website? I have heard of acceptances going out starting in December, some going all the way to February!

Hi missminac! So UC no longer has their accelerated msn program at all? Was thinking about applying there too.
