OSU Grad Entry 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all! I hope to start this thread as the official Q&A for the applicants of the Ohio State Graduate Entry Masters of Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Program Summer 2018 enrollment! I am in the works of applying, getting my last letter of rec together and studying for the GRE. I'm so excited!! How about you??

I am from Cincinnati originally, but have lived in a bunch of different places around the world... Morocco, Spain, India, the Netherlands. These days I live in Worthington with my husband and kids. I originally came to Columbus for my undergrad at OSU, and somehow I keep landing back here :)

I'm originally from Hamilton but have been in the Dayton area since being stationed here with the Air Force way back in 1996. I did my undergrad at Wright State.

I just got done with the interview! It went okay, but I feel like I probably looked super awkward in it! Its sorta like you're watching yourself talk in a mirror. I don't really know how they can accept or reject based off of that! But good luck to everyone:)

From what I have read that seems like the consensus on the interview portion! Thanks for the input.

Man, I hope I didn't look as bumbling as I felt during that interview! I'm usually pretty good face-to-face, but staring into a camera felt sorta weird. Oh well. Hopefully they'll take nerves into account. Good luck everyone, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for us all!

Does anyone know the acceptance rate of each program? I applied to the CNM program and I was just wondering what the odds have been in the past for getting in. I cant find it anywhere online.

I'm planning to do my interview today, but I am kinda dreading it! I think it's going to be really awkward in front of a computer instead of with live people to connect with. Good luck everyone! I'll share my experience once I get it done.

Hey! sorry for the late reply. it was 4 questions long, and time varies depending on the question, from one minute to like two minutes!

Do you mind to share how many questions you have for the interview had and how many minutes are for each question please? Thanks!

Hey! It was four questions long, each about 1.5-2 min!

Will any of my fellow female (hopefully) future classmates be looking for roommates near campus if you get accepted???

YES I have a dog though! Would that be ok?

Well, it has been quite a day at my house. Our very old dog has decided to start the dieing process, while I was setting up to start my interview. It's been a rough morning. I finally did manage to carve away some time to get it done. It went okay. I don't think I was able to shine like I might have in a live, face-to-face interview. I don't think it was horrible, but there was definitely some rambling, especially the first question. After that I started to settle down the nerves a little, I think, lol. Definitely do the practice questions first just to test your set up, your volume, where you want to direct your eyes, etc. Good luck everyone! Just remember to be yourself and relax! I wish I could have done that better. ;-) Now the waiting starts...

I'm doing mine tomorrow. Are the questions general type questions or specific to nursing?
