I am Wency, a registered nurse in the Philippines. I recently passed the IELTS (8.5, 7,7,7) and the NMC part 1 competency test which is the CBT. Now, I am preparing for the final test which is the OSCE. I am currently in the United Kindom particularly in Lincolnshire, and I would like to ask you guys if you know a training agency in the UK that provides training or preparatory course for OSCE because I am not confident to take it yet for some reasons that the Uk healthcare system is different from the Philippines perhaps they have different approach in providing care to the patients and etc.
Tuition fee for intensive revision for OSCE is not a problem as long as I can enroll for revision.
Good Day Nurses!!
I am also due for the OSCE exam 3 months from now
I've been trying to look for reviewers across the web, but the only reviewers I got was the northampton booklets and the RESUS one (both were from this thread)
If there is someone who can help me, or can share me some notes or tips, I would really appreciate it..
my emails are [email protected] and [email protected].
thanks for reading!
Hello everyone.. I'm about to take my OSCE soon. I was wondering if you still need to inform the patient that you're going to count respirations? The Royal Marsden says that the patient should not know that the respirations are being counted so as not to alter results.
Any insight about this would be very much appreciated.

No do not tell them, say you are taking the pulse for two minutes and spend a minute counting their reaps.
For any one who is kind enough to answer these questions, I salute you. :)
1. Do I need to clean the neck of the ampule (before opening it) when preparing IM medications?
2. Do I need to clean the bottle of alchohol gel when preparing for ANTT?
3. Do I need to make a dramatic script when I'm doing the IM injection? (Pretending I'm looking for the patient's home, and acting like I'm a community nurse, etc. wait for her to let me in, etc etc)
4. How many times do I need to change aprons when doing IM and ANTT?
Any replies are much much appreciated!

You will automatically know by looking at the needle. you use bigger needle to draw and smaller to inject. In my case, my assessor also had explained me to use bigger needle to draw which i think was red and smaller to inject the medicine. You don't have to know the gauge.
