I have the same exact question! Thank you so much for starting this thread! Hopefully we will get some replies. And I remember last quarter you had some questions about Chem. 101. Did everything work out and did my explanations help at all? Sorry if this is off topic.... I just remember that I felt really bad that you were having some trouble given that I was suffering through Chem. 101 too lol. :)
Personally like several others in my class, I found organic easier than inorganic so don't listen to all the hype. It's a lot of memorization. A lot of nomenclature. I got an A in it over the summer. My advice is -- hit the ground running. Right out of the gate, try to rack up as many high grades as possible, so the final doesn't feel as overwhelming after building up over the entire semester (I could have gotten a 40 and still gotten an A). Also -- make your own flashcards. It can be dry sometimes so do what you can to make it interesting. Use colors etc. to spice it up. Best advice -- study. A lot. And don't do marathon sessions -- study it for an hour max then get up and do something else for a while. That way it doesn't all start running together.
Good luck! I actually found it really interesting -- hopefully you will too!
I really liked Organic Chemistry too...I got an A, but it was not easy. Definitely keep up with the work. Do all example questions in the book. I went through them over and over, and that literally keep my grade really high throughout the semester. The labs are pretty fun, too. I remember one where we made our own lotion! :-) Good luck!
Yay, thats great! I hope we can both get an A in O-Chem. too!:)
You can and you will, just set your mind to it. I was never a chem person in high school and I dreaded this course. I actually almost backed out after the first day because my instructor psyched us out so badly. Believe me, if I could do it, you can too! Just don't accept anything less. When you get a B on a quiz or test, study all the harder!
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! They have helped me so much because I do have a tendency to get very discouraged when I get a B on quizzes and exams (it happened in Chem. 101). But I'm going to take your advice and try really hard to stay afloat and study no matter what. Thanks again! :redbeathe:D
