Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) ABSN-DNP 2025

Published

Starting a thread for any others applying to OHSU's ABSN-DNP programs!

I was just notified that I have been selected for an interview for ABSN-DNP CNM program! Curious if others have gotten news as well?

yes! I received an email this week inviting me to interview in early Jan 🙂

I applied right before the deadline so I may not hear anything soon. I applied to the ABSN to FDNP program at the Ashland campus to start in the Summer of 2025. Did anybody get acceptance letters yet? I heard they only accept a limited amount of applicants unfortunately. Good luck to everybody!

I think the first of the acceptance letters won't be out until late February at the earliest; that seems to be when prior classes have heard news (iirc some didn't hear news until March). Fingers crossed! I have my interview this Friday and will ask about the timeline then.

Thank you so much for asking. Good luck with your interview! Are you an Oregon resident? I'm wondering if I would have to travel for the interview because I am from California. Thanks for responding. I'll update you on this thread from what I hear from OHSU.

I'm also in California! The interview is remote. For the ABSN program, there's an asynchronous interview through Kira; for the DNP program there is a live zoom (webex?) interview with a panel, I believe. If you're applying for ABSN-DNP program you have to do both.

Thank you for the information. If you don't mind me asking, is this your first time applying to the program? Also, how many applicants do they accept for your program specifically. I applied to the ABSN to FDNP program located at the Ashland campus and only 3 spots were available last cycle. I hope they have more spots this cohort because I am not the most competitive applicant. Fingers crossed I at least get an interview.

Yes, first time! I'm not sure how many they accept... I think they mentioned in an info session that the ABSN-DNP cohort for CNMs is around 6-8 people usually.

Nice, good luck again with your interview. Please update on how it went!

Has anyone done the virtual Kira Talent video assessment yet? What's it like? Any tips on prepping for the questions?

I did it today! For me it was worth doing the practice session several times to get comfortable talking to the camera (though the practice questions aren't at all similar) - I also read through all my essays out loud before starting to get in the right mindset and get the juices flowing. In essence, they'll ask a question, you have a little time to prep, and then it starts recording you. I Googled "Kira interview nursing school" and read through some lists of questions to get an idea of the types of questions they might ask.
