Yes,what i mean is how or in whish moment apply the abc's,nursing process or maslow,how could i recognice whish is the appropiate in each question...

Hope that now my question is more clear and some guys can helpme,i think that many of us can have the same problem..

i have the same problem. i know i have to use abc,assess and maslow, crisis thinking,etc. but i don't know how to use well these skills. when i did questions i often got wrong answer. i hate myself:banghead:.

how to improve it??? :bowingpur...

Well, you need to have a background of the diseases/illnesses. I noticed that if something is expected of a situation, then it is less of a priority. Like a person with asthma who is wheezing comes only 2nd to a person who is on IV who is suddenly dyspneic. I mean, if the person is UNSTABLE, but it is expected of his illness, then he is considered STABLE. (sorry, i hope i am making sense:uhoh3:)

Also, measure the gravity of the situation. You would attend to somebody who is having signs of dehydration first, other than a pregnant woman who suddenly ruptures her membrane cause the risk of infection follows after around 12 hours and the person in dehydration could undergo hypovolemic shock if dehydration is not straightened-out.

Most of the time I start with ABCs, and than Maslows, and then Nursing Process. However, it is r/t the question, and how you test on the strategies.

Pleaseeeeeeeeee I need to find the best way to apply strategies,I know about Kaplan,actually I have that book,but my problem is HOW TO APPLY??may be somebody knows about any other page
please I need new answer no suggestion to go to another thread...

Take the class room portion of the class. They do questions till you are blue in the face and present many opportunities to see how these strategies are applied. The instructor will walk you through the decision process of tackling these questions.

It doesn't come cheap. Go to kaplan website for more info. I think you will get more from the classroom by taking the course because you can ask questions and things like that. The online portion is good, but if your instructor is good, it makes a big difference.

To be honest, don't spend too much time with the strategy. Understand how it works and move on. Its helpful in taht it will help you to eliminate wrong answers. While taking NCLEX, i found that a lot of Kaplan strategies weren't really applicablble and it came to down theory/knowledge to be able to solve the quesiton. Review with Saunders to get a good foundation in theory and then use Kaplan strategies. Not the other way around.
