Options for lpn to rn in Florida?

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Please help! I explored Daytona State College and looks like I won't be able to start due to working full time.

Then I was looking at Excelsior and was excited but then read that State of Florida no longer accepts Excelsior graduates to sit for state boards.

Are there any online options available?

Or even a program in fl that is mostly online?

I need help finding online program lpn to rn. I work full time so online is the only option for me. Please help

Valencia College has an LPN to RN program that is primarily online. The first six weeks do require you to go to school for labs and such, but all lectures and coursework beyond clinicals are done online. They start 30 students per semester. It requires a 3.0 minimum for your science/nursing pre-reqs. No wait list, they only take the top 30 students, so if your GPA is good, you should apply (average is 3.7).

Thank you for that info! Orlando is an hour and a half from me :)

What would the Valencia clinical schedule be like?

I work Monday through Friday ... Trying to see if this is doable for me :)

I'm not starting until fall, so I can't tell you the exact schedule, but from what I understand, you do have some control over clinical locations and dates. Like I said, the first six weeks require a little more commitment time-wise, but after that, you are only on campus to take exams. I'd recommend contacting the Health Sciences Career Program Advisor at 407-582-1288 or email [email protected] to set up an appointment and see how the program could fit into your schedule/academic goals.

*Edit: Just wanted to add that this program is designed for people already working (LPNs, paramedics and RTs) in the field, it isn't meant to be a traditional full-time student program, so give it a try! The cost is MUCH lower than private/for-profit online schools, although it is more selective/competitive.

Thank you the info. I will contact the, tomorrow

Also check out Galen College in St.Pete/Tampa Bay area. They have an 18 month online program for LPN to RN.
