OPT nurse signed contracted with ADEX MEDICAL STAFFING

Experience with ADEX Medical Staffing World Immigration

Published

Hi everyone,

I am an international student graduated as RN-BSN from US university. I signed a contract with ADEX medical staffing in which they agree to petition a green card for me. I obtained my license since June, which was when they started my petition. However, it has been a few months and I still don't have an official job RN yet. Right now, I have to do an RN volunteer job to keep my OPT visa status. Is anyone has the same situation with me or have work with ADEX before? I would love to hear from your experience.

Thank you

Hi! I graduate in May and was looking for information in ADEX or any other agencies or hospitals that sponsor. Is there a reason they still haven’t placed you somewhere? I am discouraged by this.

At first, they were telling me that they were placing other nurses in different hospitals. And I was behind several other nurses on the line. They told me about the possible placement. However, they haven't told me the actual date yet.

Maybe Conexus? But ADEX is the only company I found that offer position in the hospital

Not having a placement after months of signing the contract is alarming and worrisome. And the "placement backlog" is ridiculous in my opinion, what was on the contract about placement? Because if they are not upholding their end of the contract, then it should be void. Also, if you are not able to view your immigration status directly, then I do not think you should believe them when they say they are processing your paperwork.

Many more cases about the lack of job now with ADEX and I will highly recommend those that have not signed with them yet to hold off. And before you sign with any agency, please read their contract thoroughly, use a lawyer if possible. Do not sign any contract blindly out of desperation. When discussing your contract, ask that timelines be included in it, clauses about guaranteed placement within so-so months, the timeline of the green card application process, basically make sure you are covered by the contract and that if the conditions of the contract are not upheld, it can be considered void. That way you can find another company ASAP.

Nevertheless, you should never sign on with the first agency you interview with. For those graduating in MAY, you have a little bit of time to "shop' around with agencies, ask very detailed and thorough questions, request to speak to someone who has used them.

Did you sign on with Adex as well?

This makes me really nervous. I will look into Conexus. But is there any other agency, or hospital, or even long term care facility willing to file for OPT nurses? If anyone has an idea please share!

Honestly if you google search Nurse sponsorship agency or green card for foreign nurses or F1 visa nurse sponsorship, lots of companies/agencies will show up and then you can start discussing with them

There is a term on Conexus contract that requires you to forfeit the right to sue them. That is pretty shady to me. However, recently, I do see, on allnurses, cases of people who claim that they are very happy with this company.

ADEX contract is pretty reasonable. However, they are having a placement backlog right now because hospital demand for new nurses is low. Other than that, they do have experience in sponsoring immigration and hospital job.

Before I decided to sign with ADEX, I had called at least 15 different agencies across the states back in 2019 who straightened out rejected me from the phone call. Most of them preferred hiring experienced nurses from other countries who can pass TOELF and NCLEX than the new-grad international students trained in the USA. So I hope you have more luck than I did in finding other agencies.

I would appreciate it more if anyone can share practical insights from their own experience with different sponsorship for the international nursing student, rather than preaching us about common knowledge like we do not know better. Thanks

Honestly. I am so sorry you are going through this. I am sure you must have done your due diligence! Hopefully things work out soon. Now I am shocked that Conexus has a clause you cannot sue them! I hope they plan to keep their end of the contract. I guess there is no perfect place.
