You don't need to spend all of that $ on pocket guides. I used a few, but I found that I could get all of the information that I need off of the internet or from my instructor and make clear and concise notes for my own use. I can organize them anyway I want and taylor-make them according to whatever kind of facility I may be working in. Good luck!!
Our instructor gave me the new MedNotes to try at clinicals this week. She was asked to review it by the publisher. I hated it, it was supposed to be a minidrug book but it did not even have Lopressor in it, that is one of the top 50 most prescribed drugs. It had a couple helpful things but not enough to justify the cost and carrying it to clinicals everyday
i love RN notes it helps you tremendously (if your not lazy to flip the pages lol) it guided me on my first clinical rotation tremendously, and there is plenty great information on it!!
for 23 bucks it is a go!!! it is mandatory at our school i believe!!!
that little thing is so durable, i bought mine used, and i will tell you... it does help, we even had a case in which a student used the medical spanish on it to communicate with the patient!!!
i already got my medsurge one!!!

I agree 100% with this. RNotes has a lot of very useful information for the clinical setting that fits right into your pocket for easy reference, and it's a lot better than carrying around cumbersome textbooks with you all day! RNotes is mandatory at my school, too.

I was wondering if any of you find the little spiral pocket guides useful for clinical. I was thinking about ordering some from Amazon but at 23 bucks a pop they are pretty pricey if they are not worth it. Please let me know what you think and which title(s) you have. Thanks!
