Opinions on which path please....

I am trying to weigh the positives and negatives of 2 programs and would like some advice from folks who have been there. I attend a CC and will graduate with an AA degree in the fall. As of right now, I am applying for their nursing program for spring of 2010. I may or may not get in because I will be missing micro on the application and we all know how competitive these programs are. I fully intend to move on and get my BSN. There is a regional campus for a public university in the area who offers the BSN program for folks who graduate with an AA from this particular comm college. I would need a couple more prereqs before I could get in and would be realistically looking at a spring 2011 start date. Both are 5 semesters in length only difference is one is ADN and the other is BSN. I would reallllly like to wait for the BSN, of course no guarantee I could get in and I don't know if I could hang another year not working and then life gets in the way and many more excuses..... If you were in this situation, what would you do?

Why not try for both? Try to get in the ADN program first since you can start that in spring 2010. If you don't (because you need the extra class)..finish the rest of the classes and go for the BSN AND the ADN for spring 2011. That way..you may get in to one or the other..or even both.

Good luck!
