Hey Folks.
I've found myself in a bit of a dilemma and could use others' opinions. Here's the situation: I REALLY don't want to take any classes this semester--right before I start nursing school in January, but it looks like I will have to take at least one.
I've got a BA already, graduated in 1995, GPA=3.2
I've also got a Masters, graduated in 1998, GPA=3.7
Nursing prerequisites GPA=4.0
HOWEVER, I found out today that the local community college, where I'll be attending nursing school, is only counting SOME of the classes from my undergrad toward my current cumulative GPA....you know the ones....the classes from 15 years ago, when I started college, barely studied and skipped too many classes. LOTS of C's. Anyway, the cc is giving my cum GPA as 2.99
Well, for me to be eligible for a few more scholarships, I need a 3.0, so I need a class or two.
Do I:
1) take the medical terminology class because it'll help me in nursing school, but the class finishes in mid-december (it's 12 weeks)
2) take an easy A class that finishes in mid-november (8 weeks), allowing for more time to apply for scholarships, get processed, etc
3) take both
I would love to hear what you all would do in my shoes...i can't decide.
Thank you soooo much.

Take an easy A class. You will learn medical term over time and in pieces anyway. Just focus on getting the needed GPA to get in.
Hope this helps

If it literally doesn't matter what class you take to raise that GPA, go for the one(s) you feel you will have the most success in, simple as that.
Do you know for sure that you will be getting a scholarship after you hit a 3.0, or do you merely become eligible? Some scholarships are so super competitive that they have minimum GPA boundaries that even if met, do not guarantee any free money. In no way am I deterring you from taking those extra classes, but just something to consider. I believe you should do anything you need to do academically to get anything they're willing to give ya'!
Good luck, and trust me...I know whats it like to have those silly grades come back and haunt you (I despise permanent records!)

Personally, I would take the Easy A class. That is just my opinion!! Then you know your GPA will go up and at this point, that is your main concern!

I'd take both, if the one is an easy A then you can get probably pull A's in both classes
